The industrial park in the northern part of the high-tech development zone was constructed in 2005 and was approved by the Xinjiang government and regional Party committee, and the Urumchi municipal Party committee and government in 2004. Situated in the northern suburb of Urumchi city, the industrial park covers an area of 12.35 square kilometers. The second stage project is under construction, and is expected to be finished at the end of this year. Infrastructure construction for the first stage started in 2004. So far, all the 18 roads have been completed. The utilities for water supply, drainage, power supply, communications and natural gas supply are ready.

The industrial park’s infrastructure construction began at the end of 2004. To date, the industrial park has invested one billion yuan to develop infrastructures relating to the road, gas supply, water, electric power, communication, heat, water drainage, and land leveling.
