Tailoring a better life
“It (Urumqi) gives me hope for the future,” says Zoram Zar, a farmer-turned-entrepreneur who opened a tailor shop in Urumqi, Xinjiang, after graduating from a vocational school. Slowly and unexpectedly, the job began to grow on her. She now teaches a few apprentices and has clients in cities including Kashgar, Hotan and Karamay.
