The kumuzi is a traditional stringed instrument of the Kirgiz ethnic group in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. The vigorous kumuzi music played by Munina Suyunbayi's father has accompanied her and her younger brother as they grow up. Their father, a certified inheritor of kumuzi-playing skills, teaches students from across the country, including his two children.
