From Aug 4-6, a delegation of 15 representatives from Egyptian media visited Xinjiang, to gain firsthand insights into the region's economic progress, social development, cultural diversity, and religious freedom. The delegation explored Urumqi and the Changji Hui autonomous prefecture, delving into various aspects of Xinjiang's growth.

Rabab Fathi, deputy editor-in-chief of ElYoum ElSabe, the leading digital portal in Egypt, who has been covering China for a decade, said that she witnessed the remarkable achievements in urban development and economic progress in Xinjiang during the visit, and the improvement in people's living standards is a testament to the strong support from the Chinese government.

"As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, I hope for increased cooperation between China and Egypt in economic development and scientific endeavors," she added.

Abdelmoaty Abu Zaid, advisor to the director general of the Egypt State Information Service and director of the Egyptian Foreign Media Authority, expressed his awe at Xinjiang's comprehensive development achievements. He highlighted the delegation's observation of religious freedom and the effective preservation and inheritance of diverse ethnic cultures.
